care & hygiene
There are so many canine professionals to help us with taking the best care of puppy! There's also a lot you can--and should--do at home on a regular basis. It's important to consider HOW we do these tasks, as well, so learn all about cooperative care for these and other at-home tasks.

When traveling with puppy, other safety issues come into play. Learn about safe travel so you're prepared for those adventures!

Grooming
Each breed will have different needs for grooming. Your breeder is the best source of information. If you have a glorious All-American puppy, use the AKC's website to find a qualified groomer to advise you.
Dental Care
Yes, sorry. Puppy's teeth need care, too! Start while they're young to get them used to good dental care. Don't worry, no flossing needed! But brushing, supplemented by dental chews, dental food, or other products, is important. Your best resource for good products is your own vet and the doggie equivalent of the ADA: the Veterinary Oral Health Council!

Nails
You may want to trust your puppy's nail trims to your veterinary practice office or to a groomer, but you can definitely DIY! Take time to acclimate puppy to the task, and make it a happy, fun experience.
Bathing
Like all at-home care, bathing can be an enjoyable experience for you and for puppy if you take the time to introduce them slowly. We humans often just want to get the job done, but puppy may appreciate a slower approach!
