Even if you don't have a puppy destined for canine sports, "Growing up FDSA: Surviving Your Sports Dogs Puppy" is a terrific resource full of great tips!
"Lessons for My Puppy" is a short book with video links, written by Eileen Anderson and Marge Rogers, authors of a great--and much bigger!--book on puppy socialization.

"Tips for Responsible Dog Owners," published by the American Kennel Club (AKC), covers many of the basics in a readable, concise format.
​
The AKC also offers a free series of email newsletters for new puppy parents. The AKC Pupdate supports you for the first 18 months of puppy's life and offers many tips and breed-specific advice.

Take puppy's sniffing skills to a new level! Here's a free online course from renowned trainer, Suzanne Clothier: "Scent Games for Your Dog." (Good for ages 6 weeks and up!)
Here's another free course from Suzanne Clothier: "Better Handler Habits"! Learn more about your leash-handling habits and get some tips from improving them from this respected trainer/teacher.
A resilient dog reacts appropriately to things happening in their environment and is happy and playful. In the "Resilience Unleashed! Mini Course," you will learn how to give your dog agency by teaching them "default behaviors." Your dog will be able to ask politely for things like access to the outdoors or play.

Many parents of growing puppies struggle with pups pulling on the leash. Here's a short, free course, "Stop Pulling! Dog Training Mini-Course for Loose Leash Walking," from well-known trainer Grisha Stewart that may be just the ticket!
